Clubs & Activities
Our school offers a diverse range of after-school extracurricular activities that encourage creativity, teamwork, and personal growth beyond the classroom. Students have the opportunity to explore their interests, develop new skills and connect with their peers.
Spell Bowl
Students in grades 4 & 5 are nominated by their teachers for the Spell Bowl Team. Students learn, practice and study the 750 words from the Elementary Word List provided by the state. These dedicated students then participate in a Regional IASP Spell Bowl Competition with other teams from area schools.
Cross Country
Washington Center Cross Country team is a running club that promotes physical fitness and teamwork through long-distance running activities.
Intramural Basketball
This program introduces young players to the game in a fun and supportive setting, helping them enjoy practice while building strong fundamental skills.
Students in grades 4 & 5 are invited to try out for our boys and girls basketball teams in December.
Builders Club
Each week in Builders Club, students use STEM skills and teamwork to design and build creative projects together.
The club helps students grow as leaders at school, in their community and beyond, showing them that they have the power to make a difference, even at a young age.
Ukulele Club
A fun club where students can learn music and play the ukulele together. Students meet regularly during lunch or after school to practice chords, strumming and simple songs. The club often ends the season with a small performance for families or classmates to celebrate what they have learned.
Young Authors
A creative writing group where students can develop their storytelling skills. They learn the writing process, share their work, receive feedback and often publish or present their stories.
Math Bowl
A club that strengthens students' math skills through fun, competitive quizzes and problem-solving challenges.
At Washington Center, participants develop a deeper appreciation for mathematics while learning to apply their knowledge in both in and out of the classroom.
